My name is Susan Gregory Thomas. (“Susie” is fine.)
Over the course of more than a quarter century career in journalism and writing, I have written for the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, U.S. News & World Report, Time, More, Marie Claire, Glamour, Philadelphia Magazine, and others.
I am also an on-air contributor to MSNBC, CBS, ABC’s Nightline, public television, NPR, and others.
In the 1990’s, I was co-host and writer on public television’s “Digital Duo,” a Siskel and Ebert show for the tech age (they did “thumbs up” or “thumbs down”; we did “save” or “delete.”)
I have written four books, including In Spite of Everything: A Memoir (Random House) and Buy, Buy Baby: How Consumer Culture Manipulates Parents and Harms Young Minds (Houghton Mifflin).
I launched the Web versions of Time Inc.’s flagship magazines, developing original cable television series, and am active in social media and blogging.
I graduated from Columbia College of Columbia University, with a B.A. and the English Department Award for Critical Writing. I’ve lived in Brooklyn since 1994, and I still do, with my three schmushkies.
